Howard H. Belkin Memorial Golf Tournament

The CT Breast Health Initiative’s mission is to make a difference locally in the ight against breast cancer by providing grants to support education and research.One hundred percent of money raised by CT BHI stays in Connecticut, the only program of its kind in the state.

CT BHI funds (seed money) new research which is an important precurser to large privately or federally funded studies, specifically in the areas of breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, survivorship and quality of life.

UConn Health Department of Biomedical Engineering $50,000 CT BHI Award granted to Liisa Kuhn.

This project was selected as a grant for the purchase of a 3D Bio printer to provide unique custom fit breast prostheses for those who have had a mastectomy and not reconstruction. This unique project is not replicated any place in the
world. With CT BHI it will set a new standard while providing quality of life to survivors internationally. Liisa Kuhn is the Project Director working with UConn School of Engineering Female Students on this Grant.
