The Connecticut RACE IN THE PARK takes place annually each May on the Saturday before Mother’s Day in New Britain’s historic Walnut Hill Park. Each year, thousands gather to participate in race day festivities and events while honoring survivors, remembering loved ones, celebrating life and most importantly, raising much needed funds to advance the fight against breast cancer in Connecticut.
By joining The Race, pledging your support or becoming a valuable sponsor, you help raise awareness and funds to support the fight against breast cancer. 100% raised in Connecticut. 100% stays in Connecticut. Join The Race. Join the cause.

Form A Team
Participating in the CT RACE IN THE PARK with a team multiplies the fun, the laughter, and the meaning of the event. Rally around someone you know who was just diagnosed, someone who has fought the battle, or someone who may have lost the battle. Together, with your friends, family, and co-workers, you make an even greater impact than you could alone. All you need to know to form a team is below.
In person registration is available in the park May 12, noon to 6pm and day of on May 13, 6:30 am until their chosen event.
Running or walking as a team is a great way to support CT RACE IN THE PARK. We make it easy and fun to organize a team! Teams must have at least 10 members, but any type of group is eligible: businesses, families, schools, clubs, faith-based communities, book clubs… you get the idea! There are no restrictions on the number of people allowed on the team, nor is there any additional charge to register a team or register as a team member. For awards purposes, the team score time is calculated on the lowest cumulative score based on the top three finishers on the team.
Team members don’t have to participate in the same event on RACE day. Team members can choose the event in which they want to participate. All team members must be registered and will pick up their own bib and race shirt at Packet Pickup unless your TEAM captain makes arrangements for a TEAM pick up by May 5, 2017.
Team captains may pick up team packets. To schedule a team pickup, contact firstname.lastname@example.org by May 5, 2017.
How Do I Captain My Team?
As Captain you will first register yourself. During the registration process, you'll be asked to create a team. Once you do this, you will be able to recruit team members, and encourage the group to fundraise and collect pledges.
To Register A Team: Click the Register button, then click Register Here and review the waiver. Choose "Start a Team" and scroll down to enter a Team Name. Next, enter your personal registration information. After you have provided your personal information, type in your team name exactly as it will be used by team members on race day. Instruct team members to register using the exact team name as you entered into the system. For their convenience, team names will then appear in a drop down box for your team members to choose during their registration process. Continue through the registration process.
