THE END OF BREAST CANCER BEGINS WITH RESEARCH

Thank you to all CT BHI supporters, survivors, volunteers and partners for  your phenomenal support of our efforts to fund breast cancer research in the state of CT.  To date we have granted $1.2 million dollars to translational research, both as pilot project seed money and as capacity building.  These projects will build a foundation for the possibility of future federal funding.  We are thrilled with the unchartered research paths that are being taken with so much promise right here in our state.

I hope you will join us on RACE day, May 9, the day before Mother’s Day, in Walnut Hill Park by signing up  as a registered participant, whether you run, walk, volunteer or cheer.  The proceeds from this day equal 85% of what we can grant to research.  The more you support us financially, the more we can continue funding worthy CT breast cancer researchers.

Additionally, RACE Day is a family event composed of several walks and runs, refreshments, live music, children’s games, balloons, mascots, sponsor give aways, a survivor breakfast, massages, merchandise for sale, and more.  It is a true family gathering - a Mother’s Day Weekend Tradition -a CELEBRATION OF LIFE.

Stay in touch and check back with us for more breast cancer breakthroughs and news, future special events, and for ways you can make a difference.

Believe,

Joyce G. Bray
President, CT BHI

Kudos on the winning t-shirt design for the back of the kids small and medium RACE shirts.  There were over 100 drawings from Gaffney School's 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.

Special thanks to Mary Jane Parlow and Denise Roberts for guiding and educating these students about us, the RACE and breast cancer.
